Hey Bill, good to see you posting again. I bet the North Rim is nice that time of year, although I can't image how cold it must be at night, I'd definitely want to be camping in a trailer not a tent.

All of these are nice, but the second one really does it for me. Beautiful colors, I love those warm pastels. The light is very soft, but still directional to show the contours of the canyon well. The lighting in the last one is a bit more dramatic than the second, but I prefer the warmer colors. The first shot looks like it might be a good candidate for B/W conversion.

Beautiful shots Bill. Very well done. I tend to like the second one the best with the color and detail.

Jeff, I'll think you are right on the B&W conversion. Will give it a try.

I was towing a small two person trailer, which made getting up in the mornings much more comfortable. I'm glad I bought a small Coleman propane heater for my first winter trip.
The North Rim campground is under a dense pine canopy. My solar panels were useless for charging batteries.

Tim & Terese, thanks for the feedback.

I'd recommend getting reservations ASAP. I understand even Jacobs Lake fills fast. After that, you have Kanab and Fredonia as options.

FYI, the rangers told me that the North Rim campground was already booked full for 2009, through October !!!
I agree - we've stayed at the cabins before - they book fast, but they are the best in terms of location. And being at the North Rim is all about location, location, location!

Can't wait to see the actual images when I get home and they aren't just red x's. I loved the North Rim - definitely hope to go back again.
