Your second "interpretation" is certainly over the top, but I like it a lot.
I'd consider cloning out those buildings to further simplify the great fence graphic.

That fence looks like one between here and WMWR in Oklahoma. I like the perspective!

My thoughts on the two...

First one - Interesting view of the fence, but wrong time of day. It would be good to come back and shoot it early am or late evening depending on the sun.

Second one - Why bother coming back! Now I'm thinking the only thing that could make this better is what was mentioned already - cloning out the white buildings along the top of the fence line. In either case, it is awesome.
