A little info on Lensbabies - 02-06-2006, 07:39 PM

Lensbabies has come onboard to help support the forum and will be willing to give us any needed information on their product.

If you are not familiar with Lensbabies lemme give you a short explaination.

Lensbabies are selective focus SLR camera lenses. Lensbabies bring one area of your photo into sharp focus, and you can move that ‘sweet spot’ of focus around the picture by bending the flexible lens tubing. You will get a unique new look, with gorgeous blurring, glowing highlights, and subtle, prismatic color distortions, all without software manipulations.

Lensbabies are available in various mounts including Canon, Nikon, Minolta & Pentax as well as having a wide angle and a teleconveter option available as well.

More info on Lensbabies can be found Here.

Here are a couple of sample photos:

Feel free to post any questions reagarding Lensbabies here within this section and the manufacturer themselves will answer your question first hand!

Abel, this is a great addition to the forum. Congratulations.

Lensbabies - welcome to the Texas Photo Forum and thank you for sponsoring this great site. Of course, I don't need any further temptation. One of your "babies" is on my short "to get" list!

Again, welcome.

Thanks, it's good to be here - 02-06-2006, 07:55 PM

Thanks very much for the introduction and welcome Abel and LoungeLizard. I'll be happy to answer any questions you or anyone else has about our product. We just finished a great Imaging USA show in Austin, so we thought it would be nice to hook up with the TexasPhotoForum.

I have attached a few Lensbaby shots I did with the Lensbaby macro kit. Anyway, I'm about to sign off to go watch the Duke Carolina basketball game, but I will check in tomorrow to see what's happening.

Sam:

Thanks for being a sponsor of the board.

I've been lusting after a Lensbaby for quite some time now. I'm in the market....

Right after the 70-200 2.8L, the 10mm 4.0, 12-20mm, 85mm 1.8, the flash, the alien bees, the backdrop, softboxes, stands.......

LOL!!!

Seriously though, you have a really cool product that I look forward to owning.....someday.

We bought A LensBaby 2.0 at Imaging USA in Austin and have enjoyed the heck out of it! Make sure you buy the Macro kit with it also.

Ditto what Mike said. I've had fun with mine so far and everyone I've shared it with has loved playing with it. It's a great product and it's great having y'all on board as a sponsor.

I've thought about one for some time.. but other things keep taking priority.. food, clothes, other silly things. :)
