Here's one that came out pretty decent. It's tough to focus under a modeling light so it was kind of a crapshoot, but fun nonetheless....

Nice shot Pete. How did you manage to get the exposure correct using the studio lights? I tried to take some Lensbaby macro shots of my wife's earrings last night and at 1/250 shutter speed I was still completely blowing out the shot even with the single light turned way down.

I'm amazed at how in focus the sweet spot is. Which aperture ring did you use. Also what shutter speed and did you use a tripod? I just got my lensbaby and I've been having so much fun playing with it.

I just ordered the macro attachements, because I really wanted it for flowers.

The exposure for that set happened to be close to one of the supplied aperture rings so that was pretty simple. Just like a standard studio shot where you set the lights for a certain f-stop and the shutter speed then just becomes the synch speed, which in this case was 1/250. I think this was set for f/5.6 in this one. This was handheld. Again the studio strobe duration actually becomes your shutter speed so it was in effect probably like a 1/1000 or faster exposure.

This is the original LB. I would eventually like to get the LB 2.0 but this is fine for what I'm laying around with. As I said up top, it was pretty tough to focus as studios tend to be dark so you are trying to focus through a f/5.6 aperture in a dark room... I only took about 6 shots so I was actually pretty happy one came out at all.

Beautiful model, beautiful shot. Shooting the Lensbaby with just dim model lights is indeed a challenge. I'm glad this one came out so fine. Nice sweet spot, and a great display of how sharp the Original Lensbaby can be at f/5.6.

Regards,

Sam
