Metering - 04-14-2006, 12:45 PM

I thought I remembered something about the first versions of the lensbaby not working with the metering systems of the nikon D70 and the D100... I know the newest version works with the D200... Just curious if it will now work with my other bodies (the d70 and the d100?)

Thanks!

Hello PictureCow,

Both The Original Lensbaby and Lensbaby 2.0 do not meter with the Nikon D50, D70, or D100. I shoot with a D70 and I estimate my exposure, take a photo, and then take a quick look at the historgram to see if I need to fine tune. With the D200, D2x, D2h(s), D1x, & D1 you can shoot in aperture priority mode and get automatic exposure adjustment.

Cheers,

Sam

I've got a D80 and the Lensbaby 2.0. No camera metering is available with this combination either. As mentioned previously, I just use the manual setting, estimate the shutter speed, and take a quick look to see how close the exposure is.

Hi Mstotz1,

I just stepped up to the D80 also, and I love it. You are right, no metering with the D80, but focusing is much easier with the larger view finder. Enjoy.
