Lensbaby 2 or 3G for Canon 5D? - 03-26-2007, 12:47 PM

Ok So I went to a workshop (Which will remain Nameless) And they featured the Lensbabies. 1, 2, and 3G. The person giving the presentation stated that their OPINION was they like the 2 since it was a little bit easier to control and easier to use. My question is for those of you who have experienced the 2 and the 3G. Which did you prefer? the 2 or the 3G and why? I am looking at buying one in the NEAR future. I am going to go check them both out tonight at arlington camera to see which one I prefer personally but I would like Opinions from those who have had more experience with them. Thanks in advance

We discussed this very topic at some length in this thread

My personal opinion is that the 3G gives you more options and is more repeatable.
But you lose out on the simplicity and lower intimidation of the 2G. The 3G looks like some crazy weapon on the front of the camera - you can end up with people being a bit more distracted by the lens than the much simpler 2G.

In terms of how they work - optically the same, you can shoot a wider range of stuff with the 3G, but it can be more awkward to use and freak people out more.
