An alternative to lens hood that some navy Photographers made is to use a thick piece of dark foam (like that inside a hard camera case) and cut it to fit over your lens. This technique is used by photographers in aircraft to shoot through the canopy and not get reflection and also to not transfer vibration to the camera. For the aquarium, vibration shouldnt be much of an issue, but if you can find the foam, this might be a cheap option.
