I got rid of my Elinchrom Skyports because you could not secure to the hotshoe mount so I am looking for a replacement.

Does anyone have the new Pocket Wizards for Canon and do you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

I guess it depends on whether you want to do TTL with your flashes or not. I bought the MiniTT1 transmitter and use it with existing pocket wizards (Plus II).

If you are just doing manual flash control then I would recommend the Plus II since it will save you a couple of bucks.

I probably will do mostly TTL for now.

Thank you!

I have a pair of flextt5's on the 5d2, I've only tested them for ttl for a dozen shots and seems to work fine for short range (40ft). My main purpose for them is to trigger strobes at 1/200th and they are great for that purpose. the best i could get from multimax and plus II were 1/160th.

I was testing with 580ex II's and seems to be straight forward after the newest firmware update. plug n play.

I have to say they definetly have more consistent firing then both my multimax and plus II, I can shoot much faster with less "no flash problems". To quantify multimax I would loose maybe 1 out of 100 shoots vs the flex's 1 out of 500 shots.

And it is nice that flex's do actually lock into the hotshoe. compared to the other 2
