Radiopoppers jrX review - 08-28-2009, 03:25 PM

I recently sold 2 of my PW+II to buy the new radiopoppers jrX and here is my conclusions and personal opinion on the system. I hope anyone can benefit from this review.
The first thing that attracted me to the system was the power control on camera via the transmitter of my Alien Bees and White Lightning strobes and now I am attracted to the possibility of high synch speed with the PX transmitter and jrX receiver (studio) on the AB's & WL's.

The system is very nice looking, the quality of both the transmitter and receivers is nice and strong. They work as I expected flawlessly not a single shot missed. The controls on the transmitter are very smooth and they work perfectly.
The only two things I would like for them to improve is the locking system on the transmitter. The transmitter slides in the hot shoe and does not have a fastener knob to hold it firmly in place so it feels like is loose. It will not come off unless you put some pressure on it but it does feels loose.
The second thing I'll like them do is to put number dials on the three knobs of the transmitter just to be more precise when adjusting the power of the strobes.
This is going to make my life much easier by controlling my lighting all from camera. I am also very excited about the high synch possibility with the AB's & WL's I hope they get the PX transmitters back on stock pretty soon.
