Yongnuo Rf 602 won't fire Vivitar 283

I have two Vivitar 283 flashes and I can't get the Yongnuo Rf 602 to fire either one of them. The Yongnuo Rf 602 works fine with my Sigma 500 DG and my Alien Bees but nothing on the 283s.
I have searched all over the place but I can't find any info on this. If anyone knows of any issues with the 283s and the Yongnuo Rf 602 please let me know.

Got it answered on other forums. It seems the voltage on the 283s is too high. In case anyone else might consider getting these it seems that some of the older flashes have higher voltage these triggers can get fried.

Heard about that. I think they do get used alot with Viv 285HV though.

I just ordered a set of RF-602 (1 tran, 3 rcvr) for my 40D. Only hotshoe flash right now I have is a Sigma 500 DG Super, and am thinking of gettings two or three Yongnuo YN-460ii to fill out the set.
