Welcome to the board Darkman.

Excellent use of lighting character/ratios/posing - all are great shots - no.3 is far and away my fave...

Edit...

Just looked over your site and tuts - awesome stuff there bud. (Is PinupOfTheMonth.com going to be open to other shooters?)

If you ever come to the DFW area, I bet we could get enough interested shooters on board for a evening/weekend workshop that would make your trip worth while.

There is a book out that I have looked at several times at B & N, and at Borders... don't recall the title but it was all about the 30's 40's style of shooting with lots of George Hurrels photos illustrating it and actually showing some of the lighting for doing them.

The two best known books about old Hollywood glamour are:

Hurrell's Hollywood Portraits by Mark Vieira (I bought it for $25, not sure why these Amazon resellers want $200 for it) (excellent book about Hurrell's contribution)

Hollywood Portraits by Roger Hicks - this one has some lighting diagrams of how the portraits were supposed to be lit (good guess work)

Sorry to get in on this discussion so late, but absolutely love that Old Hollywood/George Hurrell style photography. Would jump at the chance to go to a workshop & shoot dedicated to Hurrell style.
