I'm starting out small, so I ordered one AB800, a 10-ft stand, and a medium softbox.

Terrible iPhone pics of the unboxing (more to come):

Welcome one and all - the more buzzing the merrier!!!

Can't help wondering - after looking at pics of Paul and Debbie Buff - if "buzz" has been an operable term with them for many, many years... ;-)

Dang it. My Hong Kong triggers use a 1/16th jack, and the Bees use 1/8th. Maybe Radio Shack or Fry's carries them.

Rub it in, John. My wife will kill me if I order it, but I *need* one. You might need this portable stand with wheels too.

For those of you ordering Bees, be sure to check the type of cable needed for your wireless triggers. My Hong Kong CTR-301P's use a 3/32" mono jack, and came with a 3/32" to 1/4" mono cable. The Bees use a 1/8" mono jack, and come with a 1/8" mono to PC Sync cable. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find a 3/32" to 1/8" mono cable (even in a big city like Houston)! I had to buy a 3/32" mono to 1/8" mono adapter, and a 1/8" mono patch cable from Radio Shack. AB has the exact cable you need, and I bought it too (after the fact). The cable is only about $6.00, and shipping is about the same.

I'll eventually get better triggers, but for now, they're working just fine.
