I use the Paul C. Buff Vagabond II battery with mine. Go to Alienbees.com and grab one for $300.

I found this discussion where someone pulled off using the Skyport to trigger an SB600.

I'm looking at that same lighting setup (the D-Lite 400 set) and want to use it to trigger my 600. Post a reply if you're able to pull it off as well.

That shouldn't be much of a problem. You just need that hot shoe to put the SB 600 on.

I used my Skyports to trigger my 580EX IIs this weekend while shooting a wedding.

I have used the Universal Skyports to fire speedlights as well as the Alien Bees. For speedlights, I use a hot shoe adapter from FlashZebra.com. For the strobes, a double ended 1/8th inch cable plugs the receiver into the strobe. If you consider the size of a high school gymnasium and then walk down the hall, I could see the strobes flash when I hit the test button on the transmitter - through the cinder block walls.

Example #2 - Shot from far end of the court

Example #3

Hope this helps.
