Curved Background - 04-20-2010, 02:17 PM

I could have the use of a space for some portrait work but am a little concerned about the room size. I haven't had the opportunity to accurately measure yet but it appeared to be about 18x18 ceilings not over 9ft. Since the entry door is over to one corner, allowing me to step out and shoot diagonally to maximize the room depth. I am thinking of running a muslin background in a bowed configuration to maintain as much depth in the room, this would allow me to still keep the subject a reasonable distance away from the backdrop. Has anyone shot in this way and what things should I be concerned about in doing it this way

This is a common configuration and works very well.
What your concerns are is that the lighting will not strike the background as evenly as it would if you were using a flat plane.

Yes the uneven background lighting I had considered. For those times I need perfectly even background (such as blowing out the back to completely white) I will just have to bite the bullet and shoot closer. Thanks Cap'n
