Shooting in a church question - 05-05-2010, 10:09 PM

I want to get a difuser for my flash for some pictures that will be taken in a church. Very tall ceilings and bouncing off of walls will not be an option either. What difuser would somone recomend as a difuser for a very open area like this on a shoe mount flash. I'm running a Sigma EF-530 DG Super on my D90.

Thanks for any hlep.

You may not be describing your intentions clearly.
When it comes to diffusers you could use THIS

Is that what you had in mind ? or where you looking for something like a softbox or an umbrella to soften and spread the light out for portraits, etc. ?

I actually have a Sto-Fen right now but I'm afraid of how much light I may loose apposed to maybe a small softbox or something more like the below to help direct the light yet soften it. I'm not opposed to getting a small kit either like Alien Bee 800 kit and using shoot through umbrella.

Also would a single 320 watt system or double 160w system be better. I'd also be using the lights for a small studio I want to put up in the house.

Sorry for the double posts on here about this. I don't remember putting it up twice under different titles.

One other things is I would probably use this 99% of the time for portraits whether it be at the church, at home, etc.
