As far as shoot through umbrellas go, apart from size, does a particular brand matters? First time venturing into using and manipulating light, and I want to start out with an umbrella.

Recommendations appreciated.

To answer the question, Yes. I don't remember where I bought mine now but I have two larger around 43" and one around 33". The smaller ones material also lets much more light through.

As for which brands, I don't really remember where my bigger ones came from but they also have the removable black backing to be used as bounce as well as shoot through. The smaller one I bought off of Amazon through Cowboy Studios.

Cheers.

What would a person look for when choosing an umbrella to use?
