I went to Houston Camera Exchange today and picked up a Custom Bracket model CB Jr. I obviously don't have a whole lot of time logged with it yet but here is my first reaction after having tried just about every bracket they had.
1) It was one of the few that allowed the camera to be in a more natural position when turned into portrait mode (I use a grip and I was still able to use buttons)
2) when you flip the flash, it feels solid and not flimsy.
3) the kickstand feature is absolutely awesome
4)the telescoping arm for the flash is nice and as you move it up you can see the difference and how moving the flash away from the glass changes the shot.
All in all, I am very happy and would highly recommend this bracket to any amateur photographer. If I was a pro and using it day in and day out, I may have looked at some of the really expensive ones.
....And of course though I paid a lot more because I went brick and mortar (GASP) I was able to open EVERY bracket, mount my camera and try it out.
I am not affiliated with either HCE or CB, I just office down the street and try and support the local guy when possible.
