Question Average Strip Box Size? - 11-23-2010, 08:42 PM

I/We dont own any strip boxes yet, and with the purchase of the new Larson, I want to add a couple. I can't afford multiple boxes in multiple sizes, so I was wondering what all of you prefer, and what a good 'all around' size for strips are?

9x24, 10x36, 14x48?

I have both 16x48 & 12x36. In general I prefer the 12x36 Westcott.

I have the wescott 12x50 and love it. I was looking for the most narrow light source I could find and the wescott at 4:1 ratio was the closest I could find that was still affordable

Scott you use a 3:1 size, and Kent you use a 4:1. Larson has a 6x30 which is a 5:1, which is (I assume) super slim.

Which is the better size? Are the slimmer sizes more limiting than the others?

I prefer longer ones. Currently use 36" ones and they are limiting for full length. You can always make larger one smaller by flagging it.
