I don't use one, because my Profoto packs have their own batt packs built in. However, the idea of lithium power sounds great! I bet you'll love it!
From what I've read/heard, the new Profoto lith batts will last four times as long as the lead acid batts, if you use the packs at a lower power setting. They don't offer a power advantage at full power, because the lith batts aren't really designed to handle high power bursts. They will give you about the same number of full-power flashes as a lead acid batt. Either way, the lith batts are so much lighter, you get the weight/carrying advantage, too!

I was looking at the mini vagabond there... looks like similar power output. Lower initial cost. Lower weight. 2 outlets (instead of 1). But more expensive additional batteries. Bonus is that it can work as an additional weight for the light stand easier.
If the performance is really as advertised, it looks like a nice step up from the standard vagabond type batteries. I might have to consider that next year (Paul already got a lot of money from me this year for the 2 einsteins and modifiers).

I ordered mine in early Oct. Paul says that they should ship out to wards the end of January 2011. They were waiting on the batteries from their supplier. They have enough batteries coming in to fulfill all orders as of a few days ago.

Yep we ordered several of them, while I love the 20 pound Vagabond II when it is windy as it acts as a Sand bag for my light stand, the lighter new Mini's sure will be nice when I do not need the weight to hold down my stands.
Looking forward to using them in our sessions this mid-Jan. hopefully.

Dear Vagabond Mini Lithium Customers,
We have done everything possible to meet our anticipated shipping schedule for the Vagabond Mini Lithium systems, but we have unfortunately encountered a delay at the very last minute that is beyond our control. We have all of the inverters and casing components in house and were awaiting arrival of the lithium batteries when we learned that they were being held for international inspection. They are not expected to clear customs until mid-January.
At our expense, we are upgrading to the fastest possible shipping option to get the batteries here quickly once the inspections are complete. We will begin assembling systems as soon as the batteries arrive, perform our final tests and quality control checks, and be prepared to ship orders as quickly as we can. We anticipate shipment to begin in late January. At that time, we will be sending you an e-mail to let you know that your order is ready and that your credit card will be charged.
We apologize for this unexpected delay and will continue to do everything within our power to get your system to you quickly. If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service team Toll Free at 1-800-443-5542. This week, we're here Tuesday (Dec. 28) through Thursday (Dec. 30), from 9:00am to 5:00pm, CST. We'll be back for our regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, CST) on January 3, 2011.
Thank you,
The Customer Service Team
