Octobox: Advantages of a Deep Octobox vs a Normal Depth one?

I see elinchrom sells a 39" normal octobox and a 39"deep octobox... just curious to see what the advanteages/disadvantages are between the two styles of octobox...

The deep octobox most likely has a narrower beam with less spread/wrap. At least that's the way I would characterize it. Think about a shallow cone reflector vs a deep or long throw version. Less dispersion in the deep model.

Yeah, exactly. My buddy that works for SI calls me about once a month to badger me into getting it. It is soft and directional. His favorite piece of lighting equipment.
