I use the Photogenics DR Line, which are their Digital versions. I like their robust feel and build. The ability to adjust the power in 1/10, 1/2 and full stops increments is very easy. And the speedring assembly mechanism can handle very huge and heavy modifiers with ease. I also like that they utilize the power settings according to actual Watt Seconds and not numbers like 1 thru 6. And although their wireless remote to control individual strobes (such as power settings, flash, modeling lights, etc...) can use a serious overhaul, it's not that bad in a studio setting. I did some serious comparisons back in the day at the time I made my purchase regarding Photogenics vs Elinchrom, but they didn't have some of the features that Photogenics had at the time, however the NEW Elinchrom BXRi Line would probably be the ones that I would go with if I did make the switch today.

BTW, if the Photogenics that you have for sale are the 2500DR's, then I maybe interested in two of them.....

I shoot Hensel monolights. Specifically the Integra Pro Plus 500. They have been rock solid performance wise for me. I own six of them and have had zero issues with them over the last three years. They aren't the cheapest lights, but their output is extremely consistent light to light and pop to pop. They are built like a fine German automobile. Enough said

I have three Photogenic studio max III that Ive had for 7 years and still on the original flash bulbs and modeling lights. The first couple years didn't get a lot of use but now I use them non stop with my DR line also. The III's are used for background and highlights were the DR's are for my fill and main.

I also have a Bee ring light which I love but do not love the quality of the build it self. For the price, well worth it. I just have not been a fan of the build quality of BEE's. GREAT lights though.
