Bower Flash? - 03-31-2011, 10:40 PM

So I am looking around for a good ring flash for some Macro stuff, saw a combo on a website Bower SDF 52N Dual Intelligent Speed Light for Nikon i-TTL Cameras, has both the hot shoe flash, and the ring flash for 179.99. Anyone tried this? Sounds like too good of a deal, so I'm leary.

I had one of there older iTTL lights only got rid of it because I switched systems...to Sony...I liked it used less power and cycled faster than my Sigma 500DG's and SB600's....did not have as much power...but worked well...

Let us know if you get it...Tony C.

I believe Bower comes from the same Chinese factory that several other "brands" do. They are popular with the Strobist crowd, mainly for their value (cheap, but does a decent job, doesn't cost much to replace).

I don't have first hand experience with them, though. Check some of the Strobist boards.
