I have a Lumopro 160, but it won't optically trigger my 580EXII set to M slave. Can only Canon flashes trigger Canon flashes or do I have something set wrong?

I'm a Nikon guy but I believe the Canon EX flashes are like the Nikon SB-600 in that they don't have a built-in, dumb optical trigger like that. One way you can remedy that on the cheap is with something like this:
FlashZebra.com: Optical Slave — Canon EX Compatible — with mono miniphone plug — Sonia Brand (Item #0127)

I may be showing my ignorance but I believe that's the situation.

Just searched google and the 580exII cannot be triggered optically.

Just reverse it, trigger the lumopro with the 580
