Nikon SB600 dead?? - 07-19-2011, 03:58 PM

My 3-year-old SB600 gives a "batt" low battery message even with fresh batteries. Did it when I was shooting some portraits and I put in fresh rechargeable batteries and it seemed ok, then it happened again with fresh batteries and I can't revive it, even with new batteries. My question is should I even try sending it to Nikon or just trash it and go for a new flash. Worked flawlessly for 3 years. I paid about $150 for it so probably got my money out of it. Looks like the new ones are a lot more expensive, especially the big SB900. Anyone else had this issue?

My Zoom button is stuck on 14mm but no battery issue on my sb600. Just buy another one because I think it will cost too much to fix it also.
