LF: softbox recommendations - 08-30-2011, 07:48 AM

I think one of my next purchases will be a softbox for my SB800.

Any recommendations? Build, ease to assemble, etc...

Can a SB800 handle a difussion panel in a softbox or does it eat up to much power to be useful?

Thanks!

Paul, here are some popular softboxes for the SB800. Note that there are clones of them as well:

Wescott 28" Apollo

Lastolite Ezybox Hot Shoe Softbox

Cheetah Qbox 16 Pro

Photoflex LiteDome for shoe mount flashes

You only saw what I sold, not what I bought :-) I am indeed very much a photographer, but had too much gear that was getting in the way of creating images! I am simplifying and standardizing, and more excited than ever about making images. Thanks!

it seems that the cheetah may be the best value:

Cheetah Qbox 16 - $75
Heavy duty shoe mounted flash bracket from the Qbox 24
Grid
Round mask
Inner diffuser
Outer diffuser
Rectangle carrying bag
Triangle carrying bag

- May need to opt for the cheetah stand as well.
