Runway lighting - Should I correct? - 09-25-2011, 05:36 PM

Went to a Danny Nguyen fashion show Friday night and the runway was lit by four blue spot lights. My question is will you correct the blue cast or keep it? I am sure the designer put up blue lights for a reason, but I am not sure about the blueish skin tone...

What are the photos going to be used for? I could see either one being "better" depending on the situation.

These are personal images, so I guess whatever I like... ;) Never shot runway before, so I am not sure if correct skin tone is a must... but like you said it depends: if client wants blue, you give blue.

I'd say that the designer put blue lights for the live audience, not for those looking at the images weeks or months later. Hard to tell that the blue light was intentional, and it looks more like the photographer didn't do it right. That would be my vote!

I agree with texxter - the blue light may look fine live, but in photos I much prefer the corrected version.
