Static Cling and Vinyl Backdrops - 11-19-2011, 09:20 PM

I noticed my white vinyl backdrop gets a lot of static cling. If I roll too fast I can even see sparks where the expan drive assembly rests on the bracket. Cat hair is sticking too. I worry about it becoming a dirt/hair magnet as well as damaging the electronics of my camera gear. Know of a way to get rid of the static? Anyone else have this problem?

have you tried doing a quick wipe down with fabric/dryer sheets before rolling it up?

I know those things eat static elecritcity pretty well

I'll have to give it a try. Another suggestion on POTN was to use the static cling spray but not sure if that would leave a residue or cause staining later on.
