AWESOME! I was playing last weekend with one light trying to push my creative limits and learn. I got some basics a while back then I sort of stopped attempting to really learn more, so now I am back trying to advance. So critique is definitely appreciated!

If interested, for the first one, I used a bare SB24 up pretty high to camera right.
For the second one I used the same SB24 fired into a 5 foot diameter reflective umbrella just to camera left.
For the last one I used the same SB24 into the 5 foot umbrella, but I folded the umbrella down to where it was only open about 2-3 feet or so to minimize the spread of the light - looking for more dramatic lighting.

Statue.. Single light, but multiple shots/layers merged into one photo. Was taken in full sunlight, 3:00 PM. Hypersync shot with pocket wizard 1/1600, 4.5 aperture, ISO 100. Made it look as if it was a night shot, with stage lighting.

2nd. Photo, (flowers) single light full sun 1/4000, 5.6 aperture, ISO 100
3rd. Photo girl and lamb... 1/2000, 4.5 aperture, ISO 100
4th. Photo girl and horse... 1/2500, 4.0 aperture, ISO 100

One light, camera right: table lamp w/ soft white fluorescent bulb. It was actually just a test image with my Zeiss 50 f/1.4.

Both of these were with a 430EX II, on body, because I just figured out yesterday how to get it to fire off-body lol.
