Question about SLA power supplies, and mulitpile flashes? - 01-22-2012, 03:37 PM

Hi, I don't post often, but I have a question and some time today.

I recently made a 6v power supply for my flashes.

I use vivitars and have one 430exii.

I typically use as many flashes as I need in a big box.

I was wondering if it is feasible to use a 12v supply wired in series, I think. Does that get us down to 6v a flash?

Theoritically, yes, IF the flashes were identical. Trouble is, they draw power at different rates during the recharge. You are safer staying at 6v. Any particular reason you want to go to 12v?
