Controlling flash output on Digital Rebel - 04-27-2005, 10:06 AM

Hey y'all! I just got a 420ex to use with my Digital Rebel. Is there a way to manually control the flash output? If I am bouncing off the ceiling I should have to turn up to flash a notch right? Or am I mistaken.

I havent used the Rebel in awhile, but if I recall, your out of luck. You might be able to load the "hack" and make it work..or trade your 420ex for a 550ex or 580ex.

I would recomend the unofficial firmware upgrade. ;)
I have the 420ex and find the FEC invaluable.

Thanks guys! I'm going to try the firmware hack, and see if that works. If not then I'll have to trade up.

you should not have to upgrade once you install the hack. with FEC you can increase/decrease power via the camera. It works quite well, becuase i like to increase the output when using my omnibounce.
