Canon 430ex AF assist beam problems

I just bought this a week ago and shot over 75 shots at a club last night with no problems. Today I took one shot and everything was fine then I went take another and only the horizontal beam shoots out and does not focus at all hardly. The second led beam is not firing and I have no clue to why. Nothing I could find in the manual. Has anyone had similar issues and if so would happen to be able to enlighten me as to what the problem might be. Thanks soo much and I hope to get a respone by tonight, cause im shooting a party tonight. Please help! |

Check to see which focus mode you are in. The beam will only emit in One Shot mode. |

its in one shot mode, but just the horizontal beam is firing. |
