I bought 580EXll yesterday and played a round with it a little bit last night. Admittedly, I have not read the manual yet, as real men don't need instructions. Having determined I am not a real man, I hope there are settings to change, as it takes as much as one second from depressing the button, to the shutter tripping, on my Mk2n. There is no such thing as "catching the moment". It responds for the moment after the moment. Like I say, I hope it can be changed, otherwise, it is going back. It's not a matter of recycle time, simply shutter response from the button being depressed.

I have never had that problem, and don't have a clue what it might be unless there is a poor electrical connection between the pins. The new attach design should fasten it to the shoe very firmly.

I'm going to be sure the contacts are clean, it seems to fit perfectly snug. I guess I need the adjusting hammer.

Aha! Found it! I always use a single point focus. I had changed it to the full set. The focus is the delay, though I am amazed at how slow the multi points are. When I put it back on single point, it fires as it should. Just so happened, I changed two things at once. Name: slap.gif
