Flash prob - 01-31-2005, 11:45 AM

Ok last week my flash was charging up to fire and as I pushed the shutter release.......nothing! no flash. I've never had a flash go out on me. I've never known anything about flashes except to keep fresh batteries in them and how to mount them.

How do I check the bulb?

I have canon 166A flash. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. oh and yes it has fresh batteries.

Will it test fire? I'm not familiar with that particular flash but many flash heads have a test button on them. If it does and the flash fires, it could be a bad contact on the flash or hot shoe on the cam.

no, no test fire. you can hear it charging up to fire and the light(test) light just flashes on as if it's ready to fire but it will not.
