Mercer Arboretum damsels - 05-23-2009, 02:25 PM

Rode down to beautiful Mercer Arborteum & Gardens this morning, ostensibly to shoot the daylilies. They were riouously beautiful, but there seemed to be a large gathering of folks with expensive camera gear traipsing all over everywhere, especially the daylily garden. Soooo, I stuck with critters in outa the way locales. Maybe next time. Found some nice damsels, instead.

Shoot Kenny you had a wonderful trip! I'd rather get damsels anytime! #5 looks like a Violet dancer and lost a front leg too...also one I never seen either...in fact there's lots of these little guys I haven't seen before. You did an excellent job on all of these! I love getting those mug shots, but I guess my avatar states that huh?

Not surprised - another stunning series, Kenny. The purple damselfly in the last image is eye popping.

Nice ones Kenny! I've been thinking of going to Mercer this holiday weekend. It's fairly wet this morning - maybe the crowds will be less.

Thanks folks. Appreciate the comments.

@Therese--way in the back there are beds with stone walls that I use to prop me and the camera on. I always start there because it's in deep shade longer than most other areas and it's more secluded than other areas.
