TAMU Horticultural Gardens revisited - 06-04-2009, 08:38 AM

Haven't been to these gardens all spring, as I'd understood that they were slated to be taken by the rebuilding of graduate student apartments. They're still there, but seem to be getting short shrift. Still nice, just look a bit neglected compared to last spring. Oh well, there are smarter folks than me thinking on it so it must be okay.

Shooting specs: Nikon D2X(F11, 1/200, ISO100), Nikkor AF 105mm w/PN-11 tube(1.6x), diffused SB600 on manual@ 1/2 pwr and handheld.

#1 Plant bug on prickly pear cactus (I've only ever seen them there, as well)

#2 Earwig on daisy (tentative ID Euborellia annulipes)

#3 Same species on flossflower

#4 Green lynx on daisy

Think these gardens deserve another look-see a little earlier on the morning.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed them.

Kenny

A good series, Kenny. The lynx spider is still a favorite.

I really like the earwigs. Haven't seen any yet. Need to look harder I guess.

These seemed to have ADHD. Just wouldn't settle down...lucky to get these shots in reasonable focus.
