Stop Eating my Loblollies - 08-25-2009, 01:46 PM

Redheaded Pine Sawfly larvae, Neodiprion lecontei, munching on some Loblollies I planted. They are not touching the native Loblollies and some planted Virginia Pine.

For the sensitive types, I'm taking care of them.

I think they're kind of cute, especially the two in the foreground. It looks almost like they are hugging. Very nice pic.

This is one of the reasons I picked the E-510 with the in-body IS. This was shot hand held with an old Olympus OM macro lens. Not bad for no tripod.
