Talking Messin' with old files... again. - 12-22-2009, 10:48 AM

I made this in Nov 08 in the prairie at BBSP. Made with D80, Nikkor AF 105/2.8D on a tripod. I was fairly close to 1:1 on the lens, because this one is almost full frame.

Thanks Elliott! It's one of my favorite little butterflies and they are in this area every year so I get lots of chances to work on them.

Thanks a lot Lenron! This one was pretty easy to do on a cool morning before it got active. Getting the tripod in place was the tricky part, but moving slow did it.

No Dick... this is the real thing...you just have to be careful and work slowly...that's part of the fun of doing this type of nature photography. It took about five minutes to get into position and 5 seconds to shoot it.

Great colors, sharp, crisp details, and a nice clean background. Great capture, Jim (aka Mr. Wimpy ).
