I tried using the raynox 250 on my Nikon 70-300vr. These flowers are no longer than .5 inches. Hand held at 70mm. Not bad considering what i was using, and flowers don't run away when you get 2 inches from them.

Nice focus and detail with that set-up. Little background noise but not bad. Like the color contrast too.

thanks, hopefully i will not have to use this setup forever. I am saving for the Tamron 90 macro. It is in my price range and i hear great things about it.

Lovely shot, David. Think you'll like the Tamron 90. The tromboning takes getting used to, but it's a fine piece of glass.
