Nice shot! I'd be curious to know what it is, as well. I'd have to look it up and then hope I could find it! Have you tried Welcome! | Butterflies and Moths of North America They're a good reference site for such things.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I ahve been doing my best to take the informaiton you all have given me, and apply it. I ordered a ringflash, and it should be here by the end of the week. I plan on going out this weekend and using it.

The marks were on the UV filter. Boy was I PO'd when I saw them!!! I went for the sensor 1st no less, I used the sensor check feature on my Kx, and nothing showed, so then popped the mirror up and looked the crazy for quite some time and found nothing. Only last did I look at the filter on the lens. It must have gotten that way from when I was out in the field behind my house. So for now on, a quick light brushing of the UV filter when I am done for the day!
