Well I'm very satisfied with my manual focus performance with my 5DMK2 now. I spent some time researching whey I thought my macros were soft/etc. on my 5DMK2 and as it turns out the focus screen was way off. Doing a simple test with live-view to focus I found that my view finder resulted in sever font focus. Bottom line, I'm now using an EG-S super precision focus screen and I ended up ordering the shim kit (Canon calls them washers) and I have my focus screen working spot-on for me now.

I'm starting to use ISO 200 and 400 a lot more and f/8. Not getting 1:1 much any more but that's okay...once I land an MPE 65mm 1-5X and get my MT-24EX back I'll start doing more of that style.

Captured with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens and this DIY Ring-Flash

Great shots Roy. Focus is excellent. Tell the truth though, did you glue that Butterfly to your finger?
