Mercer Arboretum pt I - 07-17-2010, 01:55 PM


Went down to Houston TX this morning to Mercer Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Hot, humid and mosquito-ey. Needless to say, didn't stay too long. :D

#1 Katydid nymph

#2 Bumblebee on coneflower

#3 Same bee, different flower

#4 Mossie

I see you used the 105. Did you use any tubes for these images? Used a flash or ringflash?

It was in the car, Jim. Thought it'd be better to use the Nikon since the sun was already up and I knew the critters would be active.

Used a Nikon PN-11 52.5mm tube and a Nikon SB-800 flash mounted like this.
