Therese,
As you may have known, my wife Monica was diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago. Very quickly, it migrated to her bones and with estrogen supresseants seemed under control. Monica had a couple of flare ups with her cancer last year - first she required radiation for her right shouldher and her hips. Then last fall, leisions appeared on her liver. With the leisions, her oncologist took her off estrogen suppressants and used an oral cancer killer called xeloda. Initally she became severely dehydrated and ended up with 2 weeks in hostital getting her electrolytes rebalanced. Then a month long rest off all chemo and finally back on the xeloda, but at a much reduced dose. Since this spring the oncologist has been slowly raising the dosage of the xeloda. Monica is tolerating it well right now and her September imaging shows nothing where the liver leisions were (WOO HOO!).
I've been a little distracted, to say the least, but I am getting back into the groove now...
