Great capture.

Welcome to the macro section (my favorite!) -- hope to see much more from you in the future.

What glass are you using and flash setup?

Thanx Garrett, and I was using a Nikon D70 on this shot with a Sigma 105mm Macro, no flash.

This has really nice DOF! These are one of my favorite bugs to find in the field.

Heck of a nice shot.....and with equipment that shows it is the photographer that makes all the difference.

You should be proud of this one. It's really good.

Mantids are fun to shoot because, generally, their movements are not hurried. Nice one, Johnny. Now, get closer with that 105.

Very nice balance of in-focus and OOF area.
