I like the dark background but you might be able to bring out the detail in the petals a little more if you adjust the contrast.

This looks a wee bit soft on my monitor and I can't tell if it's out of focus or subject movement. I carry a small tote umbrella when I have to shoot in direct sunshine and it helps with the wind too. Most of the time I shoot early in the morning when the light is better and the wind hasn't started to blow yet.
