I really like the frog, as the hand gives one some scale as to the size of the frog. The insect on the stump just does not have enough contrast between the subject and the background - maybe a different angle of view may make is better where the insect has the lighter background surrounding it?

Looks like a cricket frog you got to me. I would have turned it to where the light was on the face and not have the shadow on one side and I agree about the crane fly #3 a side view would have been my choice in shooting position if I could manage it...sometimes it works and sometimes it don't and they fly away...trying to get stuff in the field can drive you crazy, but that's part of the fun of doing it for me.
