Shot these four early this morning on the way in to work.

#1 Long-horned flower beetle

#2 Twice-stabbed stinkbugs mating

#3 A newly emerged dragon, may a skimmer of some sort, in a godawful spot

#4 A closer look

Good stuff Kenny! That beetle is my favorite...you need to check and see if they bite...I would but I haven't seen any down here yet.

Thanks, Jim. Don't think they bite on purpose anyway.

Garret, this is actually the first I've seen this spring and I almost missed it.

... and you made it into work?? Last time I went macro shooting, I completely lost track of time.

Really like the emerging dragonfly. Maybe a female neon skimmer?

You're probably right, Jennifer. I'm not good with odonata IDs. We oughta meet up at the LadyBird Johnson Wildflower Center sometime. You can show me where you get all those nice images you've posted. I was over there this past weekend and competely forgot about it, going to Zilker Park BG instead.

Good stuff, Kenny - as usual, you have the lighting dial in just perfect for these images.
