Nice start at shooting the small world! Bumping your f stop up to f11-16 will give you more DOF

Wide open certainly isolates the BG and allows keeping the shutterspeed up but, as Jim and John both allude to, if you want more DOF, stop down to f8 or so. Lovely shots, I like 'em, John.
