I've been thinking about getting a set myself. I think they'd go well with my 50 1.4; so I too would like to see some of what others are getting.

Congrats on picking up a set. I'm interested in responses as well, although I don't have any. I'm completely not helpful...

I just took this one a few days ago. It's a Southern Leopard Frog taken with Nikon 28-105mm 36mm Kenko Ext.

Your going to love your ETubes! I use them for birding as well.

OK, I was wondering about that. Sounded to me like extension tubes work the same as a teleconverter, but I thought I read somewhere that extension tubes prevent you from focusing to infinity. Is that a problem when you're using kenko tubes for birding?

The tubes allow you to focus closer to the subject and do not add any focal length. Extention tubes are glassless.

I used the largest extension tube on my 100mm macro:

Without the tube, this was my MFD:

All tubes do is let you focus closer to the subject and you won't be able to focus to infinity on your lens. I use a Kenko 25 mm on my 75-300 so the working distance is about 4.5 feet. Here are 3 using this setup.

Kenny is the master of using tubes for macro...I think he stacks 80 mm on his 105 for some "real" macro photography and is excellent at it!

I almost always have tubes (at least a tube) on when I go hunting... I just added a Sigma 1.4x TC to the arsenal as well.

Sorry, I left the forum there for a little bit. Yeah, you have to be real close in order to get a shot of a bird with extension tubes. I think the only one that allows with my 300mm for birding is the 12mm. It's great for bird feeder shots! Around 15ft is about all you can get. Also great for those McDonald's birds out the window of your car! :)
