Turks Cap and Katydid series. - 07-20-2011, 08:40 AM

Critique: NC:

These are some of the photos I made last week at Brazos Bend SP by Old Horseshoe Lake. This little guy was having breakfast on a Turks Cap wildflower...I think it was as happy eating as I was shooting the action. I'm still field testing the new Tamron AF 180/3.5 macro lens and really liking it so far... being able to switch from horizontal to vertical without removing the camera from the tripod and the extra working distance are really nice. I think I'm going to keep it!

Nice series, Jim - the second and third images are stand-outs (really sharp). The last image hurts my eyes!

The tripod collar is nice, ain't it? Good set, Jim. I like that these little critters don't seem to move that fast when they do move.

Background compliments this katydid nicely. I like #2 the most. Good work indeed Jim.
