This small snake looking for fish needs insect repellent.


Color of snake's blood is pink.


Found in Lick Creek Park in College Station, Texas.

I have no idea about the mosquito, but I like the images, Alexey - especially the second image.

Thats either a really big skeeter or a very small snake. But a great shot whichever. Thanks for sharing.

It is interesting that the mosquito was not noticed until the pictures were uploaded to a computer. There were no any mosquitoes in the air too.

I used a hand held ring flash.

There were several species of snakes of different colors and sizes at this spot, but only one of them did not run away. For this reason, I expect that it will be finally eaten by dogs.

In the past, I occasionally took pictures of copperheads and coral snakes in this park. Copperheads are the best for close-up pictures because they did not run away from people.

This looks like a broadband water-snake... Copperheads can be very aggressive when approached and one snake I don't mess with...they can get really cranky!
